How to Connect Your Domain Name

Connect your custom domain (like mycompany.com) to your AutoTaco website in minutes.

1

Go to Your Dashboard

After deploying your website, you'll see it listed in your dashboard under "Deployed Websites".

You'll see a button that says:

Connect Custom Domain
2

Enter Your Domain

Click the "Connect Custom Domain" button and enter your domain name (e.g., mycompany.com).

💡 Don't include www or http://
Just enter the domain name: mycompany.com

3

Choose Your Connection Method

After connecting your domain, AutoTaco will show you TWO methods to connect. Choose the one that's easiest for you:

Method 1: Nameservers (Recommended)

EASIEST

The easiest way! Just replace your domain's nameservers with these two:

Nameserver 1:

ns1.vercel-dns.com

Nameserver 2:

ns2.vercel-dns.com

💡 This is usually faster and easier than adding individual DNS records!

Method 2: DNS Records (Alternative)

If you prefer to keep your current nameservers, add these DNS records instead:

Type:

A

Host:

@

Value:

76.76.21.21

The exact records will be shown in your dashboard after connecting.

💡 Which should I choose?
We recommend Method 1 (Nameservers) - it's simpler and works faster. But either method will work perfectly!

4

Log Into Your Domain Registrar

Go to where you bought your domain (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains, etc.) and sign in to your account.

📍 Where do I find this?
This is the website where you purchased your domain. If you're not sure, check your email for the purchase receipt.

Common registrars include: GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains, Cloudflare, Bluehost, DreamHost

5

Update Your Domain Settings

In your domain registrar's dashboard, you'll need to update either nameservers OR DNS records (depending on which method you chose):

If you chose Nameservers (Method 1):

  • • Find "Nameservers" or "Name Server Settings"
  • • Click "Change" or "Custom Nameservers"
  • • Replace existing nameservers with the two from AutoTaco
  • • Save changes

✨ This is the easiest method! You only need to update 2 fields instead of adding multiple DNS records.

If you chose DNS Records (Method 2):

  • • Find "DNS Management" or "DNS Settings"
  • • Click "Add Record" for each record shown in AutoTaco
  • • Copy the Type, Host, and Value exactly as shown
  • • Save each record
What you'll be adding:
  • A Record: Points your domain to Vercel's servers
  • CNAME Record: Points www subdomain

💡 Pro Tip: Each registrar has a slightly different interface, but the fields are always the same. Use the copy buttons in your AutoTaco dashboard to avoid typos!

6

Wait for DNS Propagation

After adding the DNS records, wait 5-60 minutes for them to propagate (spread across the internet).

✅ This is normal! DNS changes take time to propagate. You can check the status in your AutoTaco dashboard.

7

Verify Your Domain

Go back to your AutoTaco dashboard and click "Verify Domain." We'll check that your DNS is configured correctly.

🎉 Success! Once verified, your website will be live at your custom domain with free SSL certificate!
